Lane Cake

For many decades, Lane cake primarily remained the province of a small swatch of the Deep South -– Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi. It wasn’t until the mid 20th century that it began appearing in national cookbooks. Its 1960 mention in To Kill a Mockingbird helped to spread its popularity to other areas of the country.
